At least 28 Palestinians were killed and 66 injured in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip, as the Israeli military offensive continues to wreak havoc on the besieged enclave.
The latest fatalities bring the overall death toll since October 7 to 37,626, with 86,098 others injured, the ministry reported. Rescue efforts are hindered by rubble and road blockages, leaving many trapped and inaccessible.
Despite international calls for a cease-fire, Israel has defied a UN Security Council resolution and continued its brutal campaign against Gaza. The eight-month-long war has left vast areas of the territory in ruins, with residents facing a humanitarian crisis due to a crippling blockade of food, clean water, and medicine.
The International Court of Justice has also accused Israel of genocide and ordered an immediate halt to its operations in Rafah, where over a million Palestinians had taken refuge from the war before it was invaded on May 6.
